Celebrating Summer with The Soir Studio

Updated: 6 days ago

Last month, I had the pleasure of stepping into a little pocket of enchantment — an intimate garden lunch hosted by The Soir Studio at The Buttery, Belgravia, in celebration of Belgravia in Bloom.

It was the gentle beginning of the summer season — that brief window when London feels softer, warmer, a little more golden. The rain, ever the unpredictable guest, was gracious enough to hold off. And so we gathered, twenty women — founders, creatives, dreamers — in a quiet garden that felt lifted from a storybook.

For the occasion, I created a series of citrus-hued poppy flowers. Joyful, bright, and ever-so-slightly wild, they marked the promise of the summer ahead. Each bloom stood in a clay base, artfully hidden by Pippa and her talented team beneath a blanket of moss — a small touch that blended seamlessly into the botanical elegance of the day.

Pippa’s eye for beauty is impeccable. She curated the tablescape with a kind of effortless sophistication: vibrant, painterly menus by Romeo and Jules Studio, charming seed packet place cards by Alma Proust, delicate tableware from Bettina Ceramica, and of course — Maison Mirabeau’s rose and fizz, which caught the afternoon light just so.

It was a joyful lunch — a celebration not just of flowers in bloom, but of women in full creative force. I left with soil beneath my nails and the quiet satisfaction of having contributed something small, yet lovely, to this hidden moment in the heart of the city.

To recreate this at your own celebrations, you can easily pop these Paper Poppies in a Pot on your tablescape and dot them around brightly coloured plates and glasses. Don't forget the citrus-based cocktails to match — a little zest never goes unnoticed.

Here’s to secret gardens, summer beginnings, and women who make beautiful things.
